Through the vomitorium to the fresh arena, the frail girl slowly walked. Upon making it to the sights of the crowd, large structurally stable plants started to raise from the ground. The girl used these to leap around towards the center, taking several turns to delay her arrival, her pink pigtails bouncing with each leap. As she leaped off each lily pad-like leaf would regress back into the ground. She finally made it ten feet from the center on her side of the arena and hopped off the final pad. She was waiting for her opponent, but seemed not to show the slightest impatience; peering around herself in amazement at sights which weren't there. The girls outfit matched her strange behavior, jacket which sleeves reached all the way to the ground and further, and a polka-dotted scarf to match. A flaring, laced pink skirt and thigh high striped socks. She wore no shoes.
"Delightful whismy~"
Her voice was curious and intrigued in the invisible spectacle that seemed to have her attention.

Hawthorn sauntered into the arena after her opponent. As she walked, she paid no attention to anything but the good book that her face was buried in. Once again, she had lost herself in the book she had read a thousand times over. It was not until she turned her head to cough that she caught sight of the opponent that waited. Hawthorn, usually quiet and composed, found herself unable to hide her awkward smile full of disbelief. The opponent before her could not be described as anything but gaudy. Although it took a moment, Hawthorn quickly realized that her face had contorted into such a rude smile and she covered her face with the book even more. After regaining her composure, she closed the book and lowered her arms to her sides. "Hawthorn is my name. Let's do our best." There wasn't a hint of enthusiasm in her voice. She had no desire to be here and still knew not why she was. Her last opponent had left her unsatisfied and the strange man in the cheerleader outfit had followed her to the new arena. He was terribly creepy. Hawthorn did her best to keep herself from thinking about it.

Nyfe's eyes trailed over the arena, spectating the wonders that only she could see. For only a moment did she make eye contact with Hawthorn post her speech, but even then she showed no interest in the girl with the book.
"Hi Hawthorn! The mushrooms don't like you."
Upon finishing speaking, a variety of colorful giant mushrooms began to form around the edges of the arena, some so large they blocked out the sun above them. The varieties came in all sorts of bright extravagant colors and patterns, polka dots, stripes, even a large skull-like shape. Nyfe knew from the short glance that Hawthorn was a bearer of the red cross, and may know who he was via connection to Kugutsu. This theory was made more likely by the fact Kugutsu followed Hawthorn into the arena. Hence Nyfe decided to keep the ostentatious female behavior in an attempt to disguise himself, going as far as to open with a different set of abilities to mask his true power.

Hawthorn glanced idly about at the towering mushrooms. "That's fine," she said, looking down with a shrug. "I don't have any particular fondness for mushrooms either." She tore several pages from her book, which all took the shape of the Black Cross daggers. These daggers, however, were slightly different from the usual ones. These, although similar in shape, had small knobs at the end of each handle. It looked like they could open, but what they were for, was anyone's guess. She tossed six of them into the air, leaving only one in her hands. The Black Crosses fell to the ground, where they stuck out, waiting, in the a hexagonal shape around Hawthorn. "I met a mushroom once, actually. It was unpleasant. We didn't get along well."
